Sampford Peverell

methodist chapel

Sampford Peverell has the oldest Methodist Chapel in continuous use for worship in Devon.  Christian worship has taken place here for over 200 years.   It is a place where the traditions of Methodism are treasured alongside a strong desire to offer a relevant Christian gospel to the modern world. The emphasis among the congregation is sharing the love of God in the community both in prayerful and practical ways.

You will be sure of a warm welcome to our Sunday morning service.  We meet on the first and fourth Sundays of the month at 11.00 am, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to chat.  Please see the Plan for further details.

We are a small congregation in number but have tremendous support from our community.  For example, a Community Charity Lunch is held in our school room the second Thursday each month.  We also have the Art Club, Project Linus (quilting group), Sampford Singers and Busy Bees (children’s craft club). Sampford Peverell Primary School also hold an assembly in the chapel on a Thursday afternoon, during term time.

You will be sure of a warm welcome to the Sunday morning service at 11:00 in a place where Christian worship has taken place for over two hundred years. Please check Service times - The Plan for full details of times of worship.
